About treo

Named for direction. Built from the wheelhouse.

treo is the Irish for direction. It's what five years of steering a care service taught its founder to value most: knowing where you are, noticing when you're off course, and knowing which lever brings you back.

The founder

A strangely useful path to home care.

David Wallace came into home care uncertain of the way to do things — and spent five years finding it: directing, steering, learning to tell when the ship was off course and which levers would bring it back.

The path there was unusual. A registered general nurse (Trinity College Dublin) who worked wards and acute assessment units. A Director of Nursing across HIQA-regulated centres — the person the inspector asks for by name. Two master's degrees in the machinery of care — Healthcare Informatics and IT-Enabled Innovation. A decade leading volunteer emergency care crews. And a first job, before any of it, testing tax IT systems in Revenue.

That path looks strange until you try to build software for care. Then it's exactly the map you need: he has been the carer at the door, the nurse writing the plan, the person-in-charge answering to the inspector, the director watching the numbers — and the technologist building the systems in between.

Why treo exists

“I came into home care uncertain of the way. I've spent five years directing and steering — learning to tell when the ship is off course, and which levers bring it back. treo is that hard-won instinct built into instruments: careful compliance tools, honest analytics, and an assistant that helps plot the course correction.”

What treo believes

Direction over logging.

Most care software records what happened. treo is built to point at what should happen next — for every person on the journey.

Point, don't just record

A system should notice the drift, surface the insight and propose the correction — not wait to be asked what went wrong.

Everyone sees the way

Client, carer, owner, inspector, funder — one truth, each with their own view of it. See every view.

Compliance as a by-product

Do the right thing in the system and the evidence assembles itself. Audit-ready should be the default, never the scramble.

Made for Ireland

Fluent in the system you actually work in.

treo understands HSS programmes, CHO and CHN offices, and the FFF referral flow — because it was built from inside Irish home care, not adapted from somewhere else. It speaks your terms, tracks Garda vetting, and keeps you ready for HIQA and the HSE.

  • HSS, CHO & FFF, out of the box

The structures you report against are first-class, not a custom field you have to invent.

  • Ready for HIQA & the HSE

Vetting, training, reviews and reasons captured to the standard the regulator expects — before the regulations even ask.

  • Irish data, Irish support

Data hosted in the EU, with support that knows home care and answers in your timezone.

An assessment in a client's home

“Every service drifts. The difference is whether you notice, and how quickly you correct. treo exists so that noticing — and correcting — is built in.”
